Story no. 1

I moved to the United States from Venezuela in 1990. Although I was a US Citizen, spoke English, and even had a medical degree, I had a very difficult time finding employment. I had gotten divorced and had to raise my son on my own.

Due to the difficulty of passing the Foreign Medical Graduates tests, I gave up on my career. This led me to pursue a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Meanwhile, I had to do different jobs like most immigrants. I did training in child-care for a few years, cleaned offices, and other administrative jobs.

Now that I have been living in USA for almost 26 years, I encourage others to work hard to pursue their dreams and goals, and never give up!
